Overview
For Home Run Derby VR, I was the lead architect for the game's UI Visual Identity. My objective was to create a diegetic, high-performance interface that felt native to the VR environment. Using Figma and Photoshop, I developed a comprehensive design system of buttons, meters, and HUD elements, which I then optimized for the Meta Quest hardware constraints. By bridging the gap between 2D concepting and 3D implementation, I ensured that every UI element was not only visually striking but also technically sound for real-time engine performance
The Concept
Experience the thrill of a professional ballpark with Home Run Derby VR. This licensed MLB title blends arcade action with deep progression, featuring prestige levels and competitive seasonal play.
The Execution
The pipeline focused on high-fidelity graphics optimized for VR’s unique rendering constraints. I designed a floating 2D/3D spatial UI, testing in-headset to ensure proper readability and scale. Using Photoshop, I created vector-based icons and text effects that emphasized clear status, rank progression, and ergonomic player comfort.
